Attracting Transformation

When I started writing, many years ago, for this blog, I would finish up a piece and post it immediately. No re-read or proof read, just get it on the internet NOW. Of course I had people who I would ask to read my posts would consistently have that feedback- proofread. Take a second to go back and read it start to finish. Does it work? I was impatient to accomplish something. I “got it done” but was it the best that I could offer? No. Taking care to go back would have been the way to go. A wiser investment.

Learning the value of patience, diligence, and craft has changed the way I create. Rather than thinking the words are going to run off the page before I can post them, I go back and read. reread. Rework. Reword. Allow space for ideas to come together fully, in the truest form. This is why novelists never publish their first draft. They work to get it done, and then spend time revisiting their work with fresh eyes, polishing it so it can be the best they can offer.

Reevaluation.

I didn’t want to look too hard. Work too hard. Try too hard. Then if no one liked what I wrote (or no one read what I wrote) I wouldn’t internalize it. I’d already discredited myself before anyone else had a chance to tell me “what I already knew.” It was like doing a half assed job was my way of protecting my delicate psyche from the prospect of rejection. Sounds familiar… in everything else I do. It was manifestation of what I felt about myself. I didn’t want to see the flaws. Didn’t want to try too hard to be something ( even though I tried really hard to be someone.) I thought of it as a negative to have things to work on and improve. It meant that I wasn’t the best. I wasn’t capable. I wasn’t good enough to be exceptional- and if I couldn’t be that, I didn’t want it.

I read something recently that said something to the effect that people have these huge dreams of reaching this level of notoriety and fame for doing something, but when it didn’t happen when they “thought it should have”, they stopped trying. They wanted to success without putting in the work that it takes to accomplish transcendence. Dreams are the seeds, but it takes work and care to allow them to grow and thrive. Wanting, but doing nothing to make it happen, stalemates potential. We are the authors of our own narrative and future. We can solicit the help of every “power that be”, but if we do nothing to make it happen, it won’t come to us.

People talk about the law of attraction in a way that would suggest that one need only want something and it will come to them. Digging around in some spiritual materials, I found out there are actually 7 Laws of Attraction: (Personally, I found this interesting. If you don’t, you can scroll to the next section.)

  • The Law of Manifestation: States that the object of our constant focus will manifest in our lives, irrespective of whether it is positive or not. All our thoughts and feelings are mirrored in the world around us, making our minds an incredibly powerful tool. IE: the more positivity we keep in our minds, the more we will get out of our lives.
  • The Law of Magnetism: States everything in our lives including the people, things, and circumstances is a direct result of our energy vibrations. IE: We attract what we are. We attract things with the same energy vibrations. ( The theory is if we can raise our energy vibrations to match up with the things we want, it can result in their manifestation.)
  • The Law of Pure Desire (or Unwavering Desire): This is tied back to the basic requirement for successful manifestation- unflinching desire. Things we think we like or want, but it’s not strong enough and stable enough to weather the manifestation process. Purity of intention and freed from fear, doubt, and desperation are the keys to unwavering desire.
  • The Law of Paradoxical Intent (or Delicate Balance): The Universe works based on a fine balance of various elements. Same applies to principles of attraction. When various elements are in balance within us, we are in a happy, peaceful, and content state of mind. Only at this stage can we manage to raise our energy vibrations to match up to that of our desires and manifest them into our lives. Appreciation and Gratitude are ESSENTIAL elements to achieve this balance.
  • The Law of Harmony (or Synchronization): Harmony is a central theme of this Universe, so it is also a vital part of the law of attraction. Everything is interconnected through energy sources. We have to align ourselves with the energy circulating through the Universe to derive maximum benefit. Tapping into Universal energy gives us access to everything it has to offer. Power of creation, abundance, and a chance to make our dreams come true.
  • The Law of Right Action (or Conscientious Action): Easiest way to say this is “what goes around, comes around. “Our actions and words have an effect on the world around us, and they come right back to us in the end.
  • The Law of Universal Influence: We are an integral part of the Universe. This means every one of our actions and words impacts the world around us. Individual energy vibrations become a part of that of the Universe. This law tells us to be aware of the implications of our thoughts, feelings, as well as actions, and words. As everything thing in this Universe is interlinked, anything you do will not only affect your immediate family and friends, but also perfect strangers. So, you need to be extremely mindful of what you are thinking, doing and saying

Deepak Chopra also wrote about these at length but took the extra step of describing application of each to obtain success in your ventures,.

Energy. Focus. Intention. Consciousness. Balance. ACCEPTANCE. Resilience. Certainty. Desire. VISION.
At the heart of the “Law of Attraction” as we know it, all these things are encapsulated. There is so much more behind it than just WANT. Much of it is about the energy one puts out into the world, the importance they place on this thing. How they have made space for that thing to come to them, and believing without hesitation that it will come to them. It’s as much about the will as is the way. It looks like “Dumb luck” , but a more enlightened person would see that as a manifestation of something powerful, and much of what brought it to them was unseen, but not unintentional.

Part of setting intention is understanding where one’s doubts lay. If one can identify doubt, they can answer it with logic and tenacity. True belief in someone’s vision for a project, pursuit, or just life, is realized mentally before it can manifest physically. That’s where intention comes in. Designating a purpose and an outcome- seeing it come to fruition. That is where true power is. What is even better is that it doesn’t have to stay the same. It changes with you. ( At least, that is how one can best serve themselves in accomplishing their goals.)

It’s safe to say that we reach a point in our lives that we no longer want to keep living the same way, which is usually in terminal dissatisfaction. Doing a rewrite, changing the approach and mindset with which we see our opportunities ( even if the scenery doesn’t change) culminates in transformation. What we see and think can transform. The ideas that used to make sense no longer have a place, and we have a chance to take on new ideas and habits that let us be the people we want to be. Don’t be afraid to go back and think about your own narrative. You get hints for how you want to write the next chapter.
